BATES Sales Company Acquires The Mine Supply Co.
Doubles Size and Increases Geographic Reach

ST. LOUIS – October 31, 2005 – BATES Sales Company, Inc. today announced it had acquired The Mine Supply Company, an industrial distributor to the construction and mining industries. Two Rivers Associates provided equity financing and LaSalle Bank provided the credit facility.

The Mine Supply Co. is headquartered in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and also has distribution facilities in Albuquerque, NM, Mt. Vernon, IL, and Viburnum, MO. The company was founded in 1946 to distribute supplies to industrial, construction, and mining companies.

The Mine Supply Co. has a long history of excellent customer service. This acquisition increases our geographic coverage and gives us additional opportunities in conveyor fabrication and machining”. stated Michael Adorjan, president of BATES. “The biggest positive here is that the people are of such high quality.”
